Jaden McDaniels came out and set the tone from the opening tip off. This came as no surprise when he called out all the Denver Nuggets for not playing defense.
Jaden came with the intensity on both ends of the floor and was able to showcase his defensive ability and offensive in amazing fashion. Jaden was amazing on the defensive end as he was making life tough for Jamal Murray who was held to 16 points on the night. Jaden McDaniels was able to start off with his defense which got his offense going as he was attacking the paint extremely aggressive. When Jaden plays like this it’s hard for anyone on any team to get in the way of what Minnesota’s trying to accomplish this season. Jaden finished the game with 20 points on a monster dunk and added 10 rebounds with a steal/block each. Jaden’s usually a man of few words but his game tonight against Denver in Game 3 was as loud as ever.
With Anthony Edwards in foul trouble throughout the night he needed his teammates to step up in a big way. One of those players that showed up in a major way was Rudy Gobert. The job that he has done on Nikola Jokic these last couple of games needs to be studied. Tonight Rudy was able to finish with a double-double of 10 points and 12 rebounds. What was more impressive was the fact he held Jokic to 27 points on 7/26 shots from the field. Gobert’s length made it tough on Jokic all night as the Nuggets were down big throughout the whole game. The Timberwolves have shown if you stop the two headed monster of Murray/Jokic or at least slow them down then things can work in your favor.
Ayo Dosunmu finally got it going in the series as he was able to be huge off the bench with 25 points and 9 assists. He was able to put on a show in transition as he was able to put the after burners on every time he got the ball. Ayo has been special for Minnesota and he was able to use his speed to get to wherever he’s wanted to with his playmaking ability. Ayo had everything working for him tonight from the jumper to attacking the rim.
It was a complete game for the Timberwolves on both ends of the floor as they will be looking to repeat that heading into Game 4. The Nuggets will be coming out aggressive trying to take care of business but the Wolves will be trying to get Game 4 knowing that Edwards only played 23 minutes. We will be in for a huge Game 4 that will be extremely competitive come Saturday night.
