The Minnesota Timberwolves Take Care Of The Mavs At Home (121-87)

Featured

The Minnesota Timberwolves were coming into this game getting Mike Conley back into the lineup. That would be a huge boost as Minnesota has been playing without him due to injury/illness. In his absence Nickeil Alexander Walker stepped up his game big time. On the flip side the Mavericks were going to be playing against the Timberwolves without Luka Doncic, Derek Lively, and Kyrie Irving. Luka alone is a huge blow to this offense but the Mavs were going to depend on the young players to come out with a win.

The first half of this game was a battle as the Mavericks came out showing that it was going to be a tough matchup. Josh Green was able to put the Mavericks on his back as he was able to attack the paint tonight and hit some 3 pointers to help the Mavericks keep it close. Green was the leading scorer for the Mavericks finishing with 18 points, 2 rebounds, and 1 assist. The Mavericks were able to make it tough on the Timberwolves early as Minnesota wasn’t hitting any 3 pointers and at one point they were shooting 16%. Tonight the Timberwolves were able to focus on the paint as both Karl-Anthony Towns and Rudy Gobert led the way. In the 2nd half the game got out of hand for Dallas as they weren’t able to score like they did in the first half.

The Timberwolves were able to dominate in the paint tonight with their bigs getting whatever they wanted from Dallas. The Timberwolves had 52 points in the paint and that was led by Karl-Anthony Towns who had finished with 29 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 assists. When KAT is playing like this the Timberwolves can do whatever they want because he’s attacking the mismatch on the inside/outside. Towns has been special this season and his playmaking ability has been impressive as well because he can get Rudy Gobert looks in his spots too. Rudy finished with 17 points and 6 rebounds. Obviously Rudy wants to make the best of the situation in the rebounding department but he will take the win every time.

The Timberwolves were able to remain #1 in the Western Conference after this win against the Mavericks but this was a true test that you can’t sleep on your opponent. The Mavs didn’t have their all stars but the Timberwolves did take care of business when they needed tonight.

Detroit Lions Vs San Francisco 49ers

A trip to the Super Bowl comes down to the Detroit Lions and San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship Game. Both teams come off slim margins of victory.

The Lions are competing in the NFC championship game for the first time since 1992. Jared Goff is trying to make history by leading this Lions team to the Super Bowl. The Lions offense played effectively against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last week but are battling some injuries with their Star Tight end Sam LaPorta has been pushing through some injuries but the Lions have many offensive weapons like David Montgomery & Amon-Ra St. Brown. The Lions defense played some hard hitting football and the defense sealed the victory by intercepting Baker Mayfield on the game’s final drive for the Buccaneers. The Key to success for this Lions team will be avoiding turning the ball over on offense and the defense being able to slow down the star stacked 49ers offense.

The 49ers came off a hard fought win against the Green Bay Packers, the 49ers essentially were behind all game until the fourth quarter when the offense pulled through and scored much needed points to win the game. But on the flip side of the ball the defense sealed the victory by intercepting Jordan Love on the Packers final drive of the game. The 49ers struggled offensively all game but Christian McCaffrey was able to lead the offense on the ground and scored two offensive touchdowns. The 49ers might be without Deebo Samuel this game as he sustained an injury early in the Packers game. The 49ers defense could not stop the run and they will have to figure out a way to stop this Lions team that loves running the ball if they want to win this matchup. The 49ers offense can’t afford to turn the ball over or play conservatively in this game; they will have to come out with a solid gameplan to win this matchup.

This Matchup will be in Santa Clara at Levi’s stadium home of the 49ers and the winner will punch their ticket to the Super Bowl and will be one step closer to hoisting the Vince Lombardi trophy.

Score Prediction: Lions Win (24-17)

AFC Championship Game Preview: Kansas City Chiefs Vs Baltimore Ravens

AFC Championship Game Preview: Kansas City Chiefs Vs Baltimore Ravens

Kansas City Chiefs vs Baltimore Ravens

A matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens on Sunday evening in the AFC Championship game will determine who books their ticket to the Super Bowl in Las Vegas.

The Chiefs will be on the road for the first time in the Mahomes and Andy Reid Era where they do not have home field advantage. The Chiefs beat the Buffalo Bills last week in a nail biting 27-24 contest. Mahomes will look to lead the Chiefs to yet another Super Bowl appearance, the offense played their best football last week against the Bills. The Chiefs were able to run the ball very effectively last week and that opened up the passing game when they needed it and caught the Bills by surprise. The Chiefs defense didn’t have an answer for Josh Allen as he ran for two rushing Touchdowns and a passing touchdown. The Chiefs defense has a tough task at hand by having to matchup against Lamar Jackson. The Chiefs key to success will be to cause turnovers and turn those into points.

The Baltimore Ravens came off a victory against the Houston Texans which resulted in a 34-10 final score. The Ravens in the first half were a little rusty coming off a bye week due to having the first seed in the playoffs. The Ravens really flipped the script in the second half of the Texans game as they out scored the Texans 24-0 in the second half. Lamar Jackson will look to lead the offense to a Super Bowl as he’s been one of the most effective quarterbacks this season, the key for the offense will not to turn the ball over. As for the Defense they will have to worry about Mahomes using his legs rather than his arm as last week Mahomes used his legs more than he usually does.

The winner of this matchup between the Chiefs and Ravens will be the Conference champions of the AFC and will also punch their ticket to the Super Bowl.

Score Prediction: (28-24) Chiefs Win
