SneakerReporter NFL Week 8 SNF: Chicago Bears vs Los Angeles Chargers

The Chargers are coming off a loss to the Chiefs last week, while the Bears are coming off a win, yes you read that right a win against the Raiders. If the Chargers can get the offense rolling early this game could be an easy win for them.

Justin Herbert passed for 259 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions in the loss to the Chiefs. They allowed 483 yards of total offense. The Chargers need this game to get Herbert back into a groove they should be able to move the ball easily against the struggling Bears.

The Bears are without Fields for yet another game this week, the Bears struggles this year continue but they are coming off a win against the Raiders. D’Onta Foreman ran for two touchdowns and 89 yards last week. They will need another big game out of him to try and keep up with the Chargers.

Score Prediction: Chargers 31 – Bears 17

Naz Reid Propels Timberwolves To Victory Over Heat (106-90)

Naz Reid Propels Timberwolves To Victory Over Heat (106-90)

Featured

The Minnesota Timberwolves came to into their home opener after losing to the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday night with a chip on the shoulder. One thing About this Timberwolves team is that they were always fight back no matter the situation. This is a young talented to group led by Anthony Edwards, Karl-Anthony Towns, and Rudy Gobert. If the Timberwolves are going to win, it will need to start with those three in order to be successful this season.

Tonight the Minnesota Timberwolves went toe to toe with the Miami Heat who were playing without Jimmy Butler. With no Jimmy Butler in the lineup, the Minnesota Timberwolves had to focus on a heavy dose of Tyler, Herro and Bam Adebayo. The game was back-and-forth between both teams as Bam was able to get his offense going in the first half. Tyler Herro was able to get a lot of good looks in the first half as well as the Heat we’re able to keep it close.

The defense of the Timberwolves made it tough on Miami Heat when it came to the second half. All the easy back door cuts and wide-open jumpers that Miami Heat got in the first half were no longer available. The perimeter defense from Anthony Edwards, Naz Reid and the interior defense from Karl-Anthony Towns/Rudy Gobert was too much. When the Minnesota Timberwolves play defense like they did tonight they’re a tough team to beat. Tyler Herro finished with 22 points and Bam Adebayo finished with 19 points on the night.

Both weren’t as effective as they were in the 1st half and struggled late in this one. It could be fatigue from playing a back to back and it could be extended minutes as to why they struggled. But to be honest, the Timberwolves defense was swarming and they didn’t look back once they got a hold of the lead.

tonight was the night that Naz Reid came in and put on a show. He finished with the most points in Minnesota Timberwolves history on a home opener from reserve player with 25 points. It didn’t matter what he was doing. Tonight was just his night he scored inside and outside with ease. Naz Reid is one of the best players in the NBA when it comes to exploiting the mismatches. You could tell the Minnesota Timberwolves trust them, and they want to continue to use them as he looks like the early favorite for the Sixth Man of the Year in the NBA. Naz has been an ultimate teammate and a fan favorite in Minnesota. In his post game, he raved about the support from the fans and how he really appreciates them in the way that he plays you can tell that he does it for the fans and his teammates.

Rudy Gobert and Karl-Anthony Towns both had dominate nights inside the paint as they were able to both get in double digit rebounds in back to back games. When both of them dominate the paint like they have so far in early season is going to be tough to beat the Minnesota Timberwolves. The interior defense is matching the perimeter defense, as both are being displayed at a high-level with an elite offense as well. Rudy Gobert said it best post game that this Timberwolves team could be the best defensive team in the NBA. Only time will tell, but from the display of defense they put on tonight in the second half against the Miami Heat nothing should be able to get in the way.

Anthony Edwards struggled in this one but that doesn’t mean you can’t bounce back Wednesday night against the Denver Nuggets the defending champions. Edwards was able to get his offense going in that fourth quarter, and that should roll over to the game on Wednesday. The only thing stopping Anthony Edwards is Anthony Edwards. He’s easily a top 10 player in the NBA and he will bounce back just like the All-Star that he is. Look for Anthony hours to be super aggressive on Wednesday night against the Denver Nuggets as he tries to get the Timberwolves to (2-1) on the season.

Washington Commanders (3-4) vs Philadelphia Eagles (6-1)

The Eagles are coming off an exciting win against a loaded Miami Dolphins team that was running all over the league, they held them to 45 yards on the ground and held Tyreek Hill to under 100 yards. The Commanders are coming off a 14-7 divisional loss to the Giants in last week’s matchup.

Sam Howell didn’t throw a touchdown all game against the Giants he passed for 249 yards and one interception in the loss. The Commanders will need Howell to play well to try and get revenge on the Eagles from their loss earlier in the season.

Jalen Hurts passed for 279 yards and three total touchdowns and two turnovers in last weeks win against the Dolphins. The defense was superior against the Dolphins strong run game. A.J. Brown had 137 yards which tied him with Calvin Johnson with most 125 plus yards games in a row.

Score Prediction: Commanders 17 – Eagles 27

Dallas Cowboys (4-2) vs Los Angeles Rams (3-4)

The Cowboys are coming off a bye week after their win against the Chargers, while the Rams are coming off a loss to the Steelers.

In the last game we saw the Cowboys they took on and beat the Chargers 20-17, Dak Prescott passed for 272 yards and one touchdown, and Ceedee Lamb had 117 yards of receiving.

The Rams lost to the Steelers 24-17 in a game where Matthew Stafford passed for 231 yards with one touchdown and one interception. The Rams defense will have their backs against the wall with a Cowboys offense that if they get going early can run away with the game.

Score Prediction: Cowboys 24 – Rams 17

Green Bay Packers (2-4) vs Minnesota Vikings (3-4)

The Vikings are coming off possibly their most impressive win of the season by knocking off the 49ers 22-17 in a Monday night game, the Packers lost to the Broncos last week from a game winning field goal by Wil Lutz.

The Vikings are trying to rediscover themselves without star receiver Justin Jefferson, rookie receiver Jordan Addison has picked up the much needed performance with 123 yards and two touchdowns. Kirk Cousins passed for 378 yards with one interceptions and two touchdowns. This win might be what the Vikings needed to turn their season around.

The Packers lost a nail biter against the Broncos, with a chance to go down and win the game Jordan Love threw his only interception of the game, he passed for 180 yards with two touchdowns.

Score Prediction: Vikings 27 – Packers 20

Tennessee Titans (2-4) vs Atlanta Falcons (4-3)

The Falcons are coming off a walk off field goal for the win against the Buccaneers, the Titans are coming off a bye week after their loss to the Ravens in London.

The Titans continue their struggles at quarterback and haven’t had an answer for who is going to be their guy for the rest of the year.

Desmond Ridder passed for 250 yards and fumbled three times in their loss last week. The Falcons should be able to get back into the win column this week against the Titans.

Score Prediction: Titans 10 – Falcons 20

Indianapolis Colts (3-4) vs New Orleans Saints (3-4)

Both teams are coming off losses in both of their matchup last week. The Saints need this win to stay alive in the NFC south.

The Colts lost last week by one to the Cleveland Browns, Gardner Minshew played an amazing game passing for 305 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. While Jonathan Taylor rushed for 75 yards and one touchdown.

The Saints lost to Jaguars 31-24 in a game that Derek Carr passed for 301 yards and one touchdown and one interception. Having Alvin Kamara back has helped spread the offense out and keeping defenses on their toes.

Score Prediction: Colts 13 – Saints 17

New York Giants (2-5) vs New York Jets (3-3)

The battle of New York what was to be believed an exciting matchup this year but with Aaron Rodgers sidelined with an Achilles tendon injury and Daniel Jones struggling after signing that nice new contract this offseason this game will be a lackluster game.

The Giants offensive struggles continue but they were able to come away with a win against the Commanders last week 14-7.

The Jets are coming off a bye week that was well deserved after upsetting the Eagles in their last game. In a game the Eagles led all the way until 1:46 was left in the game, the Jets pulled off the upset.

Score Prediction: Giants 13 – Jets 16

Miami Dolphins (5-2) vs New England Patriots (2-5)

Both teams are coming off shocking endings to their last games the Dolphins were shutdown against the Eagles and the Patriots snuck away with a win against the Bills.

The Dolphins will look to get back to their explosive plays on offense this week but the Patriots defense is one of the best in the league. The Dolphins will be happy to have Jalen Ramsey suit up for the first time this season after an knee injury kept him out for the first 7 games of the season.

Mac Jones finally had a good game last week against the Bills, he passed for 272 yards and two touchdowns. The Patriots defense continues to be the rock for the team as you can rely on them to keep them in the game. They forced a fumble on Buffalo’s last possession of the game last week leading to their win, they will need the defense to be ready against an high power offense that the Dolphins have.

Score Prediction: Dolphins 35 – Patriots 17

Pittsburgh Steelers (4-2) vs Jacksonville Jaguars (5-2)

Both teams are coming off wins, the Steelers edged out the Rams and the Jaguars won against the Saints in their last outings.

The Steelers are finally getting comfortable with Kenny Pickett at the helm leading the team and George Pickens is coming along as he had over 100 yards last game, Pickett may not have thrown a touchdown in the last game but he ran for one.

The Jaguars stand alone at the top of the AFC south and continue to dominate, Trevor Lawrence was playing with a sprained knee last week and still lead the team to a victory while passing for 204 yards and one touchdown and rushed for 59 yards. He is questionable for this weeks matchup but Lawrence is a strong quarterback, that will try and play in this game.

Score Prediction: Steelers 24 – Jaguars 28

Carolina Panthers (0-6) vs Houston Texans (3-3)

Number one vs number two for the first time this year can Bryce Young get his first professional win as a starter or will CJ stroud continue his stellar play, as both teams are coming off a bye.

Score Prediction: Panthers 13 – Texans 24

Seattle Seahawks (4-2) vs Cleveland Browns (4-2)

As both teams come off wins the Browns are going to be without Deshaun Watson yet again as he got injured in last week’s one point win over the Colts. The Seahawks defeated the ranking Cardinals last week 20-10

Jaxon Smith-Njigba caught his first touchdown of his young career and Geno continues to not write back as he passed for 219 yards with two touchdowns and one interception.

Watson went down after 5 passes and here comes in Walker as he lead the Browns back to back wins. The Browns defense had 4 takeaways last week in their win against the Colts. They will need their defense to step up again to keep their foot on the gas in the AFC north.

Score Prediction: Seahawks 24 – Browns 27

Arizona Cardinals (1-5) vs Baltimore Ravens (5-2)

The Ravens shushed the Lions hype train by blowing them out 38-6. The Cardinals continue their struggles while Kyler Murray is still recovering from an acl tear.

The Cardinals season is over at this point and will need to ask themselves do they full tank and try and get Caleb Williams or ride out Murray and see if he can return to Heisman form.

Lamar passed for 357 yards and rushed for 36 yards and had four total touchdowns in the win against the Lions last week. The Ravens should have success early and Lamar could repeat this performance this week against the Cardinals.

Score Prediction: Cardinals 10 – Ravens 38

San Francisco 49ers (5-2) vs Cincinnati Bengals (3-3)

The 49ers are coming off two straight razor close losses while the Bengals are coming off a bye week after beating the Seahawks.

Brock Purdy is human… Brock had one touchdown and two interceptions in the loss to the Vikings last week. The 49ers defense will have their hands full with the Bengals offense this weekend and will need all hands on deck to get back into the win column.

This game means a lot to the Bengals as they’re falling in the AFC rankings and will need to get a win to stay afloat and make a push to get to the playoffs.

Score Prediction: 49ers 24 – Bengals 27

Denver Broncos (2-5) vs Kansas City Chiefs (6-1)

The Broncos are coming off a close win against the Packers last week, as the Chiefs are coming off a win against the Chargers last week.

The Broncos have lost 16 straight to the Chiefs and have no answer for Mahomes. The offensive and defensive struggles will let this game get ugly fast, if the Broncos can control time of possession and keep Mahomes on the sidelines they could stay in it.

Last week Mahomes finally looked like the MVP that we’re all used to seeing as he passed for 424 yards and four touchdowns and one interception against the Chargers. Travis Kelce had 179 yards with one touchdown as he continues to prove year after year he is the best tight end in the game.

Score Prediction: Broncos 10 – Chiefs 35
