The Minnesota Timberwolves have been in the market for a back up point guard for about a month now. Today the Timberwolves took that opportunity to make that desire for a back up point guard a reality. The Minnesota Timberwolves traded with the Detroit Pistons as they aquired Monte Morris for Shake Milton, Troy Brown Jr, and a 2030 2nd round pick. The addition of Monte Morris gives the Timberwolves some more scoring but also they bring in a player with great passing ability/IQ with playoff experience. This year Monte Morris only played in 6 games this season for the Pistons but last season for the Washington Wizards he played in 62 games averaging 10 PPG and 5 AST.  Monte Morris will help the Timberwolves for this playoff push down the stretch and he will not be too far off from the Mike Conley’s talent when inserted into the game. Monte Morris is one of those players that has great team chemistry and he will be able to gel with this team instantly. Monte Morris will work wonders for Naz Reid, Nickeil-Alexander Walker, and Kyle Anderson with his playmaking skills. The trade deadline is tomorrow and will will see if the Minnesota Timberwolves are going to continue to be players in the trade market. If the Timberwolves are as serious as everyone thinks they are then another move to bolster the roster wouldn’t hurt at all.
