SneakerReporter SuperBowl LVIII Prediction – Kansas City Chiefs vs San Francisco 49ers

Featured

The NFL season comes to a wrap tonight after a matchup of two of the best teams in the league this year, Mahomes and company are looking to repeat as champs. Meanwhile Brock Purdy is trying to end his fairytale story of being Mr. Irrelevant as the last pick in the draft, and led the 49ers to the promise land and be crowned Champs.

The Chiefs are coming off a win against the Ravens 17-10 where they were held scoreless in the second half of the game which has been an Achilles heel for them this year. Mahomes passed for 241 yards and one touchdown on 30-39 passing attempts. The Chiefs will need to be able to put up points in every quarter if they want to stay in this game against the high power offense of the 49ers. The big question is who other than Kelce will make a play. As we’ve seen all season long the Chiefs receivers inconsistency of catching has plagued them all season, but in the playoffs they’ve looked like their old self’s again.

The 49ers are coming off a nail biter against the Detroit Lions, in a game that they trailed 24-7 going into the half. They exploded for 24 straight points to take the lead in the fourth quarter to give them the win, Brock Purdy had one touchdown and one interception on 20-31 passing, while McCaffrey had 20 rushing attempts for 90 yards and 42 receiving yards and two rushing touchdowns in the comeback victory. The 49ers can’t afford to start off slow or they will get behind, and Mahomes knows how to drain the clock correctly. Brock Purdy fairy tale story could get even sweeter if his team can win the Super Bowl. Be ready to expect a heavy amount of McCaffrey runs and Deebo runs to try and get the Chiefs to pull down safety’s so they can air the ball out later in the game.

Score Prediction: Chiefs 24 – 49ers 34

Super Bowl MVP: Christian McCaffrey

Baltimore Ravens vs Houston Texans

Baltimore is coming off a bye after locking up the overall number one seed in this years playoff, hopefully the rest they were so much deserving of will help them get out to a hot start against the Texans who played marvelous in last week’s blowout win against the Browns.

Lamar is looking to add the MVP trophy along with hopefully a Super Bowl ring. The team will try and continue their dominance that they’ve had all year long. The Ravens did sign Dalvin Cook after being released by the Bills last week, he will help Lamar in the run game which should open up the pass game for Lamar.

CJ Stroud continues his incredible rookie season with an almost perfect game last week throwing for 274 yards on 16/21 passing attempts with 3 touchdowns. The Texans will need to be risky and come out swinging if they want to stay in this game with the high flying Ravens.

Score Prediction: Ravens 31-Texans 24

San Francisco 49ers vs Green Bay Packers

The 49ers are coming off a bye week after clinching the number one seed in the NFC looking to continue their explosiveness from the season that started shaky for them. As for Green Bay they are coming off what would’ve been a blowout win against the Cowboys if it wasn’t for a few garbage time touchdowns against their backups.

The 49ers will be refreshed and healthy going into this matchup in which they should dominate on both sides of the ball if they can stop Green Bay run game and avoid any broken plays made by Jordan Love they should be able to get their backups in to close the game.

Jordan Love, welcome to your highlights young man… Jordan passed for 272 yards on 16/21 attempts with 3 touchdowns that most were made out of broken plays… Aaron Jones finally arrived last week with 3 touchdowns and a total of 131 yards, the Packers will need Jones to go off again to help lead the way for the Packers to try and stay in this game.

Score Prediction: 49ers 38-Packers 20

Houston Texans vs Cleveland Browns

Houston found a good one in CJ Stroud as he led the team back to the playoffs to take on the Browns this weekend. Both teams are coming off hot endings of the season as the browns were winners of 4 out of their last 5 games and the Texans winners of 3 out of 5 of their last games.

CJ Stroud proved he was ready for the moment and the Texans trusted him all season. He pass for 4108 yards and 23 touchdowns and 5 interceptions all year long, he could’ve broken the record for most yards by a rookie if he didn’t miss two games due to an injury. The Texans will be without rookie receiver Tank Dell who was having an incredible year until he broke his leg, but Nico Collins has been holding them together making big play after big play.

The Browns will be going out with Joe Flacco at the helm of things. Joe Flacco signed as Deshaun Watson was put out for the year again with yet another injury, and in his time he has looked like the Joe Flacco that everyone knows and loves, his veteran presence has been beneficial for the team as he will be calm minded going into another playoff game.

Score Prediction: Texans 27-Browns 17

Kansas City Chiefs vs Miami Dolphins

Both teams are coming off an interesting year, where the Chiefs have looked off on the offensive side of the ball, and the Dolphins started out hot but quickly have cooled off these past few weeks. Both teams will be in for a freezing day at Arrowhead Stadium Saturday night with a weather reaching 8 degrees and windchill reaching -30.

How much gas does Mahomes have in the tank, he has played well all year but hasn’t been able to rely on the receivers including Travis Kelce as he has played well below his standards all year. If the Chiefs want to stay in this game they will need players to catch passes from Mahomes.

Tua and the Dolphins are coming off two straight losses and one being a blowout by the Ravens, the offense has seem to struggle recently and will need a wake up call on this frozen night tomorrow. Tua will need to play his best game of his career if they want to beat the Chiefs.

Score Prediction: Chiefs 17-Dolphins 28

Buffalo Bills vs Pittsburgh Steelers

The Steelers will be without TJ Watt this weekend and the Steelers team has to be one of if not the hardest team to watch right now as they don’t have much going for them. Josh Allen is finally playing the way he’s been expected to be playing. This matchup could get ugly quick and may be a long cold day for the Steelers

Josh Allen and company are 5-0 in their last 5 games and they have been the leagues hottest team since their loss to the Eagles. This will be a snowy and cold game and you’d have to expect with no TJ Watt on the defensive side for the Steelers the Bills will try to run the ball down the Steelers throat.

Pittsburgh needs a miracle simple as that. Mason Rudolph will be leading the Steelers Monday, if the Steelers want to win this game they will need to take risks, and control the time of possession in order to stay in this game.

Score Prediction: Bills 24-Steelers 10

Dallas Cowboys vs Green Bay Packers

Dak and company have been playing the some of the most complete football all year and they’re real contenders, if they can get over the hump of recent playoff struggles they could go far this year. Jordan Love finished the regular season as the full starter for the Packers and didn’t disappoint, he will be trying his hardest Sunday to help the Packers take down Dallas.

Ceedee Lamb broke Michael Irvin’s record in week 18 for the most receiving yards and receptions in a year by a Cowboy. Dallas will need a big game from Dak and Lamb to help take down the Packers. As they’ve done all year long look for the Cowboys defensive to take risks and jump passes in hope of turnovers.

Jordan Love will need a perfect game for them to keep up with the Cowboys. They will need him to keep the ball out of harms way as the Cowboys live off turning over the other team. Aaron Jones and if AJ Dillon play you’d have to imagine the run game will be relied on heavily in this game.

Score Prediction: Cowboys 31-Packers 14

Detroit Lions vs Los Angeles Rams

Matthew Stafford will be coming back to where it all began to take on the hungry Lions and Jared Goff will be taking on the team that gave up on him. This will be an entertaining game as Stafford looks to end the Lions season and Goff is looking to show the Rams that he may have been worth keeping.

Detroit has played some of the best football this year and it’s hard not to root for this team as they deserve to be here after a hard impressive season, Goff was second in the league in passing yards but at times made some questionable decisions, and St. Brown and Goff will look to torch the Rams Sunday night in a must see game.

Stafford has the opportunity to play spoiler for the Lions, he’s admitted saying he has love and respect for the city and the organization but Sunday night all that will be out the window and he will do everything in his power to keep his teams season alive.

Score Prediction Lions 35-Rams 21

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs Philadelphia Eagles

Baker may have found a home in Tampa Bay after an unorthodox start to his career in Cleveland he has made some impressive strides this year leading the Buccaneers to the playoffs. Jalen and the Eagles are in a predicament as they haven’t been able to win close games or close out games while winning this year. Something about this Eagles team has been off since starting 10-1 and potentially even before that.

Baker Mayfield will look to get his second playoff win of his career Monday night as he takes on the Eagles who have struggled to stop the run over the past few games, so the run game may be the most effective way to control time of possession and slow down the game.

Jalen Hurts has to play better if he wants to have another late playoff push again, AJ Brown is OUT on Monday with a knee injury but should add DaVonta Smith and Darius Slay back in the lineup, the team needs to rally around each-other to leave Tampa with a win.

Score Prediction: Buccaneers 20-Eagles 27

Los Angeles Chargers (4-6) vs Baltimore Ravens (8-3)

The Ravens are coming off a win against the Bengals in their last matchup 34-20 while the Chargers are coming off a loss to the Packers 23-20 in a game where Herbert played well but his receivers couldn’t hold on to a ball all game.

Justin Herbert passed for 260 yards with two touchdowns, Keenan Allen continues his stellar play with 116 yards on 10 receptions with one touchdown as he has looked good all year and has been able to stay healthy to help Herbert, rookie Quentin Johnston dropped key passes in the loss and will look to bounce back this week.

Lamar had a total of 318 yards with two touchdowns in the win against the Bengals, Gus Edwards continues to blow up with two touchdowns on the ground with 69 yards. The big question is who will Lamar look to pass to with Mark Andrews suffering an ankle injury that is causing him to miss the rest of the year. The Ravens will need someone to step up and rookie Zay Flowers may be the guy they’re looking for as he’s had a good start to his career in Baltimore.

Score Prediction: Chargers 24 – Ravens 30

Cincinnati Bengals (5-5) vs Pittsburgh Steelers (6-4)

This AFC North matchup where both teams lost in their previous games last week, as both teams lost to their divisional rivals, The Bengals lost a close game to the Ravens 34-20 and the Steelers last to the Browns 13-10

The big story of last weeks loss is that the Bengals lost Joe Burrow for the rest of the year with a hand injury. They will need the rest of the team to step up in the absence of their star quarterback.

Jaylen Warren continues to shine as the lead back in Pittsburgh, as he rushed for 129 yards with the only touchdown of the game on 9 carries. The story of the week for the Steelers are that they had a locker room meltdown with receiver Diontae Johnson and Minkah Fitzpatrick. If the Steelers want to make a playoff push they will need their team to knock off the nonsense and get fully focused.

Score Prediction: Bengals 13 – Steelers 20

Houston Texans (6-4) vs Jacksonville Jaguars (7-3)

Both teams are coming off wins in each of their last week’s matchups, as the Jags blew out the Titans and the Texans are coming off a close win against the Cardinals in a game that C.J. Stroud was reminded that he’s a rookie.

Stroud passed for 336 yards with two touchdowns but had three interceptions in the game against the Cardinals , the bright side is rookie Tank Dell continues his impressive start to his career as he had 149 yards and one touchdown on 8 receptions in the win, they will need another big game from him this week to try and keep up with the Jags.

Trevor Lawrence had himself a day against the Titans, passing for 262 yards with two touchdowns, and star receiver Calvin Ridley had 103 yards with one touchdown on 7 receptions, both teams have the talent to run up a score so this should be a high scoring affair.

Score Prediction: Texans 35 – Jaguars 38

Indianapolis Colts (5-5) vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-6)

The Colts are coming off a win against the the Patriots last week 10-6 in a slow game that had little to none offense. The Buccaneers are coming off a loss to the 49ers 27-14 in a game that the Buccaneers offense struggled against one of the best defenses.

Jonathan Taylor scoring was the only thing the Colts had to be happy about last week’s win as other than that there wasn’t much offense, Garner Minshew had 194 yards with one interception and zero touchdowns.

Baker Mayfield passed for 246 yards with one touchdown and one interception and a fumble, Bakers short career has been plagued with poor decision making and turnovers and that continued last week in the loss to the 49ers.

Score Prediction: Colts 13 – Buccaneers 17

Atlanta Falcons (4-6) vs New Orleans Saints (5-5)

Another Divisional Matchup with two teams that both loss last week as the Falcons lost to the Cardinals before their week off, and the Saints lost to the Vikings as they came up short on making a late comeback after being down 24 at one point in the game.

The Falcons pass game has been atrocious all season and rookie Bijan Robinson has been held on a short leash, but found the end zone in their last game. They will need to let him off the leash so he can grown and develop, but until this the Falcons will continue to struggle.

The Saints turned to Jameis Winston for a spark and he almost led the comeback against the Vikings but lost 27-19. Winston had 122 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions in the loss.

Score Prediction: Falcons 13 – Saints 20

New York Giants (3-8) vs New England Patriots (2-8)

The Giants are coming off an upsetting win against the Commanders as they will continue to play the role of spoilers in trying to effect other teams playoff seeding. The Patriots are coming off a bye after their loss to the Colts in a game that the offense was a no-show.

Tommy DeVito had three touchdowns and 246 yards in last weeks win against the Commanders, this week he should have a green light to air it out against the struggling Patriots.

The Patriots have no clue what is is wrong with the quarterback situation as Mac Jones struggles continue and Zappe isn’t making the difference they need. Their season is hanging on by a hair and is it about time to move on from Mac Jones?

Score Prediction: Giants 16- Patriots 13

Tennessee Titans (3-7) vs Carolina Panthers (1-9)

Both teams are coming off blowout losses in their matchups from last week. The Panthers got beat 33-10 by Dallas and the Jags torched the Titans 34-14.

Will Levis had 158 yards with two touchdowns in the loss to the Jags as he is slowly coming along, and should’ve the quarterback for their franchise if he can get the supporting cast around him that he needs.

Bryce Young still continues to struggle week after week with another game with multiple turnover, at least he threw a touchdown and had 123 yards. The Panthers have two choices shut down Young so he doesn’t get hurt or let him grow and let him play the rest of the season.

Score Prediction Titans 17 -Panthers 6

Arizona Cardinals (2-9) vs Los Angeles Rams (4-6)

The Cardinals are coming off a loss to the Texans 21-16 and the Rams are coming off a one point win against the Seahawks.

Kyler Murray had 214 yards and one touchdown and one interception in the loss to the Texans, it is good for Murray to get reps so he can get back into groove for next season but how much exactly do you play him so you don’t risk another injury.

The Rams will be relying on backup Carson Wentz to lead them to victory this week against the Cardinals. As Stafford is injured. The former 2nd overall pick isn’t afraid of the bright lights and should be able to go out there and help get a win.

Score Prediction: Cardinals 20 – Rams 27

Denver Broncos (5-5) vs Cleveland Browns (7-3)

Both teams are getting in groove at the right time of the year as they both won their last weeks matchup. Denver had a game winning drive against the Vikings where Russell Wilson found Courtland Sutton with 1:03 left in the game giving them a one point win. And the Browns are coming off a game winning field goal against their rival Steelers.

Russell Wilson passed for 259 yards and one touchdown in the win against the Vikings, the Broncos momentum continues to grow and the team is finally having that confidence in their quarterback that they were supposed to have last year.

The Browns are without quarterback Deshaun Watson but have found a diamond in the rough in Dorian Thompson-Robinson, he may have not thrown a touchdown in last week’s game he made just enough plays to lead them to a win.

Score Prediction: Broncos 20 – Browns 24

Las Vegas Raiders (5-6) vs Kansas City Chiefs (7-3)

Both teams are coming off losses as the Chiefs lost the Super Bowl rematch against the Eagles last week in a game that no one wanted to end, but ultimately the Chiefs receivers couldn’t hold on to the win or the ball… The Raiders lost to the Dolphins in their last outing 20-13.

The Raiders are playing with confidence after firing head coach and promoting Antonio Pierce as head coach. Rookie quarterback Aidan O’Connell struggled against the Dolphins passing for 271 yards with one touchdown but had three interceptions. Davantae Adam’s had 82 yards with one touchdown last week as he’s finally coming along and showing what he’s about, the Raiders are still waiting for their running back Jacobs to finally breakout and this could be the week they see it as they will need to control time of possession to stay in this game.

Patrick Mahomes played decent in the loss against the Eagles having 177 yards with two touchdowns and one interception, main story to the loss was the receiving core couldn’t hold on to the ball if their life’s depended on it, with less than two minutes left in the game Mahomes took a deep shot to Marquez Valdez-Scantling and he had the ball in his hands but when going to the ground he dropped it. The Chiefs should have an easier game against the Raiders but will need to get the team to come together and have everyone do their job if they want to get back to the promise land and win another Super Bowl.

Score Prediction: Raiders 17 – Chiefs 31

Philadelphia Eagles (9-1) vs Buffalo Bills (6-5)

The Eagles are coming off an impressive win against the Chiefs in their Super Bowl rematch, while Bills are coming off a blowout win against their rivals the Jets. Both teams need this win as the Eagles look to stay atop the NFC and the Bills are trying to catchup to the Dolphins.

Jalen Hurts didn’t play his best game against the Chiefs but made the plays when they mattered like the deep ball to Devonta Smith, Hurts had 150 yards with one interception but ran in two touchdowns, the pass game is still up in the air but is beginning to come back to the Eagles. They will need the whole team’s effort today against the Bills strong defense.

Josh Allen had three touchdowns and one interception with 275 yards in their blowout win against the Jets. Allen’s play this year has been real up and down as he can’t find his groove that we saw the previous years. Josh Allen will need to play close to perfect game to stay in this game against the Eagles.

Score Prediction: Eagles 28 – Bills 17
