Common’s “Let Love,” Album Promotes the Practice of Loving One Another

Celebs

It’s been about 25 years since Common has graced our ears with a story about a girl he met as a kid with whom he eventually fell in love. That girl was Hip Hop, that song was “I Used to Love H.E.R.,” off his 1994 sophomore album Resurrection. Well, Common has returned to yet again profess his love for Hip Hop in the newly released album “Let Love,” inspired by his best-selling memoir Let Love Have the Last Word, in which he opened up about his relationship struggle both platonic and romantic.

“The music is not a song based on every chapter on the book,” he explained. “It just allowed me to go to different places and gave me a theme on what I wanted to write about and a guide. Once I get a title, I feel great about creating the music. It sets the tone for whatever the movie I want to create is gonna be.”

Earning the recognition as one of entertainment’s busiest men having his has in various projects, from film and TV to video games and book publishing to political activism. Common hasn’t lost his love for music.

“I was able to set and focus for a while and not try to do any movies and do too many extra things besides just focus on music, which has been new for me in a minute. But I felt it was that important to me so I just wanted to put my heart and soul for it.”

“Let Love,” features 11 tracks with guest appearances from Daniel Caesar, Swizz Beatz, Leon Bridges, Dwele, and Leikeli47, with production from Karriem Riggins, Samora Pinderhughes, A-Trak, and the legendary J Dilla on single “HER Love”.

Most fans know what to expect from a Common album, love ballads, dedication songs, historical references to the black experience and Hip Hop’s trending topics; occasional environmental awareness and politics as usual. But this form of conscience rap and poetic love is needed in these times of uncertainty and unjustified hate. Possibly not everyone’s cup of tea, this is a must-listen at least once.

“The book was the seed that started me in this conversation,” he told Apple Music. “I believe that the energy of love and the act of love, the practice of it, is the thing that we can use as individuals and as people to overcome the heaviness of the times. When I say ‘Let Love,’ I’m saying put love into practice. Allow love to be the law that we abide by.”

During his promotional tour his stop in Houston we saw the resurrection and recreation of the theme park bring notice to the city of Houston that Six Flags: Astroworld is needed for the community.

Upon releasing Astroworld it was shown that Travis wanted the album to be perfect, give a view into his creative process. He plays the beat for “Butterfly Effect”  a numerous amount of times over the van’s speakers while coming up with lyrics and melodies. Showing that inspiration can strike as quick as lighting, virtually creating the song on the fly. Later on, his infectious energy is shown when as his engineer puts the finishing pieces on “No Bystanders,” yelling, jumping on furniture and bang his hands on the ceiling of the room as “Fuck the club up!” blast over the studio speakers.

During the period leading up to the Grammys, following the announcement of the nominees Travis is a little disappointed he wasn’t up for Album of the Year.

“We thought we were at least in that convo [for Album of the Year],” he says. “It’s still crazy, though. We made it on the board. This is bigger than anything we ever done in life.”

The night of the Grammys Travis’ demeanor showed his growing frustration as the night went on after losing each category he was nominated, eventually leaving empty-handed. It was revealed in a candid conversation with the mayor of Houston, Sylvester Turner backstage at a concert his frustration stemmed from a want to bring a win back for Houston.

“After Sunday, I’ve been mentally, like, stressed. I’ve been down. I’ve been questioning. I don’t know, man. I’m lost.”

Mayor Turner responds with a pep talk about perseverance and faith, which ultimately helps to change Travis’ perspective. Referencing the possibility that a theme park could return to Houston because of Travis.

Lastly, viewers had the pleasure to see his paternal side, as he stepped into fatherhood from the moment Kylie became pregnant with Stormi, to cutting the umbilical cord, to him interact with his daughter in a fun and childish way. That made Travis more human than any of the other moments because he let his guard down and allowed us into a personal moment. It was as if I was watching my friend though his wild journey to stardom and fatherhood.   Image result for travis scott look mom i can fly

We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.

Other actors to join the series includes Gina Carano (Deadpool) as Cara Dune, a former Shock Trooper turned mercenary. Fighting in the Galactic Civil War under the banner of the Rebellion. A retelling of a Disney classic that gets the live-action treatment, Lady and the Tramp is a story that follows a pampered cocker spaniel named Lady whose comfortable life slips away once her owners have a baby. When, after some tense circumstances, Lady finds herself on the loose and out on the street, she is befriended and protected by the tough stray mutt Tramp. A romance begins to blossom between the two dogs, but their many differences, along with more drama at Lady’s household, threaten to keep them apart.

Lady and Tramp will be voiced by Tessa Thompson and Justin Theroux. Joined by Benedict Wong as Bull and Ashley Jensen as Jackie. Janelle Monáe has jumped on board as Peg, the pound dog who was voiced by Peggy Lee in the original animated film in 1955. Noelle is a Disney+ original movie that stars Anna Kendrick and Bill Hader. The story follows Kendrick as the daughter of Santa Claus, and she ventures out into the real world when her brother Nick goes missing. He is supposed to take over for Santa. Spider-Man Back To the MCU

Spider-Man Back To the MCU

Celebs

(Disclaimer this is only a rumor, these claims have not been confirmed by Marvel or Sony)

As many fans were in disbelief at Spider-Man’s ejection from the Marvel Cinematic Universe  (MCU), starting an uproar that spilled over on to social media from hashtag to fan ask “Deadpool” star Ryan Reynolds to save Spider-Man. Well there is a new rumor that Disney and Sony are back at the bargaining table to hammer out a Mega Deal.

New negotiations between Marvel’s parent company Disney and Spider-Man rights holders Sony, who recently failed to reach an agreement to extend their shared custody arrangement for Spidey. According Youtuber TVO, anonymous and unconfirmed inside sources at Marvel have say the new deal being discussed would involve no fewer than six feature films starring actor Tom Holland, with an option for a seventh. One serving as a direct sequel to “Spider-Man: Far From Home,” concluding the story of Peter Parker’s high school years.

The next trilogy of films would focus on Parker navigating the ups and downs of college life while contending with a growing roster of super villains. The last two films of the deal would be the fifth and sixth Avengers movies, which have yet to be announced by Marvel studios.

In one of those team up films, Parker will meet and team up with Johnny Storm aka Human Torch of the Fantastic Four. It’s believable seeing that Disney has newly acquired rights to them and other following the Fox deal.

While it does sound too good to be true, but will Marvel allegedly coming back to the bargaining table with a few incentives for Sony to get the deal done seems feasible. First Disney who holds television rights for everyone’s favorite wall crawler, would allow Sony to move forward with their TV universe. Second, Disney is said to be interested in integrating Sony’s Marvel Characters, which include Venom and Morbius the Living Vampire. Considering Far From Home recently became Sony Pictures’ best box office performer of all time. As the highest-grossing Spider-Man movie ever, the idea of putting Venom into the MCU has to be quite intriguing.

This is only a rumor and nothing yet has been confirmed, it is possible that this is true fan-fiction. If this happens to come to fruition it’s not the first time a movement on social media has moved the needle for the people’s benefit.
