The Minnesota Timberwolves came in riding a nice win streak and they were looking to improve on that tonight against the Suns.

Phoenix was playing without Jalen Green and Superstar Devin Booker tonight. In their absence tonight it was a huge showing from Mark Williams, Dillion Brooks, and Collin Gillespie. The Suns were in control of the game from the very start as the Timberwolves found themselves playing catch up. Mark Williams set the tone for the Suns in the paint against Rudy Gobert as both were going back in forth. Mark Williams had legit everything working tonight from the alley oop to even a 3 pointer that he drained.

William’s impacted the game in a way the Suns desperately needed and it worked out. Williams and Gobert were dominant tonight but both got hit with Flagrant fouls except Rudy Gobert’s was a Flagrant 2 that got him ejected. Rudy left the game with 15 points, 8 rebounds, and 1 assist. Mark Williams continued to be a force as he finished with 22 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists.

Dillion Brooks was hitting some timely shots and he was very aggressive playing that number 1 option role. Brooks finished with 18 points but was hitting some contested jumpers with Timberwolves players in his face. Brooks is one of those players you love when he’s on your team because he will be a pest and get under the opponents skin. Also Gillespie played lights out in the 2nd half giving the Suns some cushion on some impressive made shots. He finished with 19 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists on the night. Gillespie is one of those scrappy players that you want on your team in crucial moments because he continues to deliver.

The Timberwolves on the other hand had an amazing effort tonight from Anthony Edwards as he was able to drop 40 on the Suns. They were doubling Edwards and he was able to keep making the right plays. Edwards had to brunt a lot of the shots when Rudy went out and he was able to get to the basket with ease. Anthony Edwards has that takeover ability and he tried to tonight but there just wasn’t enough time. Julius Randle chipped in 21 points, 3 rebounds, and 8 assists for the Wolves. When both of them have it going on it usually means great things for the Timberwolves.

Bones Hyland was the bright spot off the bench tonight as Naz Reid wasn’t able to connect early in the game. If they get Naz and Bones both going this game would have been a Timberwolves win. Just lets you know that the bench is very important and you have to be able to adjust to different situations just like Naz did with Rudy ejected.

The Timberwolves will get a little break before they play their next game and will be looking to bounce back in a major way.
