Nike Reveals Official Photos of The Air Jordan 4 “Military Black”

During SNKRS’s preview of the Jordan Retro Spring/Summer 2022 lineup, viewers of the live stream got a preview of each model and the expected release date. During this live, we were shown a brand new Air Jordan 4 “Military Black.” Despite the Jumpman teasing us with the golf version of the Air Jordan 4 “Military Blue,” it appears that the creatives are trying to appease our disappointments with this upcoming silhouette.

Now that we get an accurate description of the upcoming release, this offering of the Air Jordan 4 comes in a similar color blocking as the “Military Blue” release, but all the Blue details will be replaced with Black. The rest of the shoe features a White leather base with Neutral Grey overlays. All three colors, White, Black, and Grey, will appear on the rubber outsole.

First Look: Pop-Surrealist Artist Nina Chanel Abney x Air Jordan 2

First Look: Pop-Surrealist Artist Nina Chanel Abney x Air Jordan 2

Sneaker Releases

As revealed today, Jordan Brand has teaming up with pop-surrealist artist Nina Chanel Abney, an American artist, born in Chicago based in New York, whose interpretation of MJ’s second signature is something straight out of the uncanny valley.

The “uncanny valley” refers to the degree of resemblance between an object and a human being; it typically describes certain works of animation as well as life-like robots, as the subtle difference between the real thing is enough to create an unsettling sensation. Here, this is somehow translated to footwear, as Abney’s take on the shoe is both reminiscent of and distinct from the original.

The Jordan 2 may be the most underrated signature in Jordan’s original line, however, over the years collaborators like Chicago native Don C, the late Virgil Abloh, and our friends over at Union LA have been able to show their appreciation for this sneaker ushering in the silhouette’s rebirth.

Modifying its build, the Nina Chanel Abney x Air Jordan 2 features a higher cut collar than typically seen on the Air Jordan 2 emphasized by the lack of any noticeable stitching or trims and a more of a minimal take with piping and trim removed on the sneaker. This feeling is carried over to the rest of the construction as well: a White leather upper with reptile texture overlay panels and suede at the toe and heels. The heel piece is smooth, lacking the color blocking we’re familiar with; and the toe cap/perforations are cut short, ending right where the oddly plain lace unit starts. The suede heel tab is somehow disconcerting, as it reveals much more than what’s seen on prior offerings.

Other details include an aged vintage-style Sail midsole atop a Red and Grey rubber outsole that completes the design, and Abney’s artwork features, an illustration of MJ against the Lakers on the hangtag while her name is printed on the insoles.

Enjoy a first look at the Nina Chanel Abney x Air Jordan 2 right here, and Look for the women’s Nina Chanel Abney x Air Jordan 2 to release on July 8th via SNKRS and at select retailers.

Polaroid is easily one of the most iconic photography brands of all time, synonymous with instant photos, this photography company continues to provide both film and compatible cameras to the masses. So to graciously honor the 85-year-old company Nike has teamed up with Polaroid to release a special edition collaborative SB Dunk Low.

Despite teaming up with fragment design, Teva, and even Star Wars in the past, Polaroid has rarely ever brought their Spectrum to sneaker culture, But tomorrow, however, that change t capture this moment thanks to Nike SB, who have offered their very own Dunk Low.

Union Announces Nike Dunk Low “Argon” Release Date

Union Announces Nike Dunk Low “Argon” Release Date

Sneaker Releases

The Union Los Angeles and Nike collaboration dubbed, the “Passport Pack” kickstarted last month with the release of the highly limited and exclusive Dunk Low “Pistachio.” Their partnership will now be expanding into 2022 with an upcoming Union x Nike Dunk Low “Argon,”paying homage to a rare pick-up Chris Gibbs purchased on a trip to Japan.

The “Passport Pack” essentially celebrates Chris Gibbs’s three homes: New York, Los Angeles, and Tokyo. Each colorway in the set is a modern take on a Dunk from the early ‘00s that helped lay the foundation for the Dunk to become the classic that it is today. Capturing the essence of global exploration, cultural inspiration, and personal evolution, this collection encourages you to get out and get what’s yours. Each pair comes with hangtags made to look like baggage claim tags housed in special boarding pass-themed packaging.

Union Nike Dunk Low 2022 Release Date

These Nike Dunk Low styles put a new spin on the classics that inspired Gibbs (owner of Union LA) years ago, hiding in plain sight behind a see-through synthetic, hastily-stitched grid pattern tearaway upper that encases the leather underneath, whose overlays are light and dark blue, respectively. The white paints the swoosh as it does the tongue and laces; orange tags and emblems mark the profile, displaying the retailer’s “UN/LA” and Frontman branding; and red threads are found along the edge of every panel.

Look for the Union x Nike Dunk Low “Argon” to be released March 31st exclusively at Union LA store and website, the retail price set at  $150 USD. For a closer look at the Union LA x Nike Dunk Low “Argon” ahead of the release, see below.
