The Timberwolves have been on a roll as of late and that has been because of the amazing play from Naz Reid. The Wolves took on the Wizards who only have 1 win on the season. It’s the Timberwolves last home game before they hit the road for a stretch of games.

The first quarter in this one belonged to Anthony Edwards as he was able to score 12 points. It didn’t matter who they put on Anthony Edwards tonight he came out aggressive and on a mission to put the Wizards away early. The Wizards put Middleton and George on him tonight and it was a clear mismatch. Anthony Edwards finished with 18 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 assists on the night. The Timberwolves were up by 27 points at one point in the game so they didn’t need Edwards for the whole night.

Once Anthony Edwards hit the bench to get some rest it quickly turned into the Naz Reid show in Target Center. The heater that Naz Reid has been on this week needs to be studied all over. It has been amazing to watch Naz play elite basketball on both sides of the ball. He’s been able to hit his 3 point shot but he’s been making opponents like the Wizards tonight pay for not doubling. Naz Reid had a 20+ point 1st half and was able to put the team on his back as he made it tough for the Wizards to keep up with the scoring. Naz Reid shot (11-21) from the field and it was special to watch for any Wolves fan tonight.

The Wizards made a run in the 3rd quarter trying to make it close coming out of halftime but Minnesota put a stop to that quick. Khris Middleton had 23 points on the night for the Wizards. Washington had 7 scorers in double digits tonight but it wasn’t enough as the Timberwolves defense forced 17 turnovers. The Timberwolves lived at the line tonight as they went (25-35)from the free throw line. Minnesota hasn’t settled for jumpers on this stretch as they have been able to attack the rim with aggression.

The Timberwolves will begin their road trip as they will be leaving Minnesota (10-5) on the season.

The Timberwolves came into Monday night’s game after a loss to the Nuggets ready to bounce back. Minnesota had the (4-10) Dallas Mavericks coming to town as they got their 1st look at the 1st overall pick Cooper Flagg.

Tonight’s game was all about the bench as Naz Reid has been on a mission these last few games. Naz has been bringing the energy and he has been able to attack the paint against mismatches.

The Mavericks had Flagg guarding Naz and he was able to get the better of him inside the paint. Reid shot (9-14) from the field tonight and was able to put the Timberwolves on his back with his amazing shooting display. You can tell that Naz Reid has bought into the gameplan by Coach Finch and that has shown on both ends of the floor. If Naz Reid is back in 6th Man of the Year mode this Timberwolves team will be a scary out for any team. Naz Reid finished with 22 points and 12 rebounds in the night.

The crazy part about this game is that Anthony Edwards didn’t get his 1st point of the game until 2:49 left in the 2nd quarter. Ant Man got it going in the 2nd half but most of his scoring wasn’t needed as Minnesota was up by 33 points. Anthony Edwards finished with 13 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists. The Wolves were clicking on all cylinders as they finished the game with 6 scorers in double digits tonight. Rudy Gobert had a nice night as well with 15 points & 9 rebounds on the evening. The Mavericks didn’t match up well with the Timberwolves tonight as they were caught in a buzz saw.

Cooper Flagg finished with 15 points, 1 rebounds, and 2 assists on the night. Flagg showed some promise as he was able to get to his spots and made some tough shots over the Timberwolves interior defenders. The Mavericks had 3 players in double figures tonight (Washington, Flagg, and Williams) with them now dropping to 4-11 on the season they will see Minnesota again down the line hopefully at full strength.

The Minnesota Timberwolves came out playing pissed off after their lose to the Knicks the other night. It’s unfortunate but the Utah Jazz had to face this Timberwolves team that was ready to bounce back in a big way.

Anthony Edwards came out extremely aggressive tonight against the Jazz as it felt like he could do whatever he wanted too. Edwards was able to get to all his spots tonight with his drives to the paint and his step back jumper. No one on the Utah Jazz was able to slow him down as he was clearly on a mission tonight. Edwards finished with 37 points with only playing 26 minutes tonight. This was a great bounce back game for Ant Man and the Timberwolves after the Knicks game.

Anthony Edwards stat line might steal the spotlight but Julius Randle and Jaden McDaniels came up big time tonight. Julius Randle did it all tonight against Utah as he finished with a triple double (19 points, 10 rebounds, 12 assists). The Jazz had no answer as Randle was able to beat them in every way from playmaking to rebounding and to scoring. Randle has been on an amazing stretch of games right now where he’s just seeing the game at an elite level. When Randle plays like this the Wolves are unstoppable as a unit.

Jaden McDaniels has been elite as well this year and tonight he was able to showcase his well improved jumper. Jaden finished with 22 points, 7 rebounds, and 1 ast. The Jazz had no answer for Jaden in transition and they were able to slow him down on the jumpers he made. Jaden defensively did an amazing job on Markkanen with his size and length as he was held to only 12 points.

The Timberwolves shot (56%) as a unit and looked really good against an Utah team trying to find their identity. It was a rough to watch if you were a Jazz fan as the Timberwolves led by 44 points at one point during this game.
