Jack Harlow Enlist DaBaby, Lil Wayne, And Tory Lanez In What’s Poppin’ Remix

So what’s poppin’ is the remix, Jack Harlow is back with some friends.

The Louisville rapper original version, (which appears on Jack’s EP Sweet Action) has amassed 370 million streams worldwide and peaked at No. 16 on the Billboard Hot 100. Now a star-studded remix with DaBaby, Tory Lanez, and Lil Wayne. Jack found a way to make a hit even better.

“‘WHATS POPPIN’ dropped at the top of this historic year and things haven’t been the same for me or the world since. I knew the record was special, but it continues to exceed my inner circle and I’s expectations,” said Jack.

Taking a page out of DaBaby’s book, Jack doesn’t give the best any time to breathe, followed DaBaby and Tory with verses we come accustomed to, while Weezy flips some of Jack’s lyrics.

Listen to Jack Harlow’s “What’s Poppin” remix below:

“Getting DaBaby and Tory Lanez on the record is very exciting, especially because they both delivered. But Lil Wayne hopping on is a dream come true; a real bucket list achievement. Something I can say was done for the place I’m from – Louisville, Kentucky. This is a moment all of my city and state can be proud of despite these difficult times. Thank you to my fans for making this go so far, because without them I wouldn’t have any of it. To the top we go,” said Jack.

Jack has made the most of his quarantine with a recent feature on the SCOOB! soundtrack with “Yikes,” abd collaboration with G-Easy on “Moana.”

The Year Of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander In Oklahoma City ⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️

The Year Of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander In Oklahoma City ⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️

Featured

As the NBA season aims to resume play in Orlando at Disney World. The OKC Thunder are in a prime position to make a serious playoff push this postseason. On the season before the coronavirus, OKC was 40-24 in the Western Conference. One reason for the OKC Thunder’s success this season was because of the emergence of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. The second-year player came to OKC to get better and that’s exactly what he did this season for the Thunder. Shai has one of the smoothest games that you will see in the game and his layup package is extremely impressive.

It was obvious that the LA Clippers didn’t want to give Shai away last summer and the Thunder fans were able to see why. Numbers don’t lie and in the case of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, you can clearly see that over his two seasons. Last year on the Clippers, Shai averaged 10.8 ppg in 26 minutes per game. This season with the Thunder, Shai averaged 19 ppg in 36 minutes per game. It was clear that with opportunity and more playing time the sky’s the limit for Gilgeous-Alexander. He came to OKC on a mission to prove to everyone that he’s an elite guard in the NBA and did just that. Another part of the OKC situation that has helped Shai continue to grow within his game is the fact he has Chris Paul as a mentor. When you have one of the best point guards in NBA history showing you the ropes and constantly believing in your game you have unlimited confidence.

The OKC Thunder have been able to exceed all expectations from all of the NBA media and sports outlets. A lot of outlets wrote the Thunder off as soon as Russell Westbrook & Paul George left but they’ve surprised everyone and will enter the playoffs as a dark horse. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander made a 9 point jump in his point performance during his two-year span in the NBA. During the 2019-2020 campaign, Shai was able to get his career-high 32 points in back to back games against the Suns & Clippers. Shai was showing a lot of promise and glimpses of greatness and promise as the season continued to go on. The way that the Thunder team was built it benefits their three point guards, especially with the ball movement. Chris Paul, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and Dennis Schröder made it hard on any opposing team because you didn’t know who’s night it was to shine.

Heading into Orlando we’ve seen a lot of footage from Shai Gilgeous-Alexander working on his game in the free time away from the OKC Thunder. One this that was noticeable is that he’s toned up and he’s polished up a lot of his moves getting ready for that championship run. Shai was known for having the biggest wingspan in his draft class and as he continues to get better in the NBA he will have to use that length to continue to execute at a high level. Shai has a smooth game and he’s shown different levels that he can reach within his game on a nightly basis. The confidence that he’s shown in his game over the year has been impressive as his jumper has improved just as much as his finishing at the rim. The Thunder have the face and future of this team as a baby in NBA years and OKC fans will have to get used to seeing what Shai has to add to his game. Look for Shai to continue his greatness on the court just as much as he does off the court with his game-day drip. Below are the Top 10 sneakers that Shai Gilgeous-Alexander graced the court with this season for the OKC Thunder.

EA Play 2020: Detailing The Most-Anticipated Electronic Arts Games Dropping In 2020 & In The Future

EA Play 2020: Detailing The Most-Anticipated Electronic Arts Games Dropping In 2020 & In The Future

Featured

In case you missed it, Electronic Arts held their annual future game showcase Thursday evening and though under different non-in-person circumstances due to the COVID-19 crisis, EA figured it was in the best interest to virtually reveal their upcoming projects for the newest generation of consoles coming later this year and in 2021.

Below, I decided to give a recap of all the games mentioned during last night’s event, including a jaw-dropping surprise of a reveal for longtime fans of the gaming company.

Apex Legends – Season 5: Fortune’s Favor

Season four of EA’s critically-praised shooter Apex Legends just experienced their most successful season yet, so it makes sense that they’d drop a new trailer on the newest season of adventures on the outer banks. Respawn announced that their free-to-play battle royale series will be making its debut on the Nintendo Switch this fall, and they also announced that cross-play will be a feature so that gamers of all consoles (PS4, Xbox One, Switch, PC) can play together.

The Sims 4

Another EA Play; another Sims 4 announcement. A pattern that is as repetitive as wash and dry. EA announced that their franchise cornerpiece lifestyle simulator will be coming to Steam as early as….right now.

It Takes Two

Director Josef Fares, famous for his 2019 Game of the Year nominee “A Way Out”, displayed yet another emotionally-potent co-op title during EA’s event last night. Set for release in 2021, It Takes Two features a young daughter of two divorcing parents who copes by making two dolls out of clay, which both come to life. And by Fares’ standards, his co-op action-adventure platformer is going to “blow your f#&*ing mind away” when you play it.

Lost in Random

Another EA Original title, Lost in Random is a title by Zoink Games about a literal world ruled by dice and probability. With a bit of a gnarled, spooky vibe to it, this should serve as a fan favorite when it releases later this year.

Rocket League

Set to drop on July 14, Final Strike Games’ first-ever release is like a more-colorful, third-person based adaptation of Overwatch, but with a LOT of rockets.

Star Wars: Squadrons

Though the initial teaser trailer was released to the public just days ago, EA doubled down and showed their distinct gameplay for their next Star Wars title. And I must say…wow. The game both includes a solo campaign and a multiplayer campaign. And from a graphical standpoint, this could be EA’s most impressive title in the SW genre to be released yet.

EA Sports Montage Trailer

Now…for the sports. EA Sports went ahead and showed what felt like a massive movie trailer showcasing both FIFA 21 and Madden 21.

In the trailer, stars from both “footballs” were brought to life in image showing off the graphic grandiose that the next-gen consoles have the power to show. For Madden, EA showed clips of Ravens Quarterback and M21 cover athlete Lamar Jackson snapping ankles of a Packers defense on the field, new Bucs QB Tom Brady walking up to the line of scrimmage and Packers star wideout Davante Adams celebrating with a Lambeau Leap.

Conversely, FIFA graphics displayed the deceptively-speedy PSG striker Kylian Mbappe’ scoring a penalty kick in lieu of hundreds of thousands roaring in Parc Des Princes, potentially new crowd engines brought forth by the stunning audio of Liverpool supporters singing their club song, Real Madrid wing Eden Hazard attempting a wild bicycle kick to connect with the top corner of a goal, and more.

Next-Gen Tease

To keep on the same tab as EA Sports, Electronic Arts also displayed additional titles that will be released exclusively for next-gen consoles later this year and beyond. Detailing not only the games made by companies like BioWare (probably another Dragon Age) or Dice, who are key in making highly-esteemed Battlefield games, EA’s “sign-off” for this event praised the power of the next generation of consoles and the new barriers of ingenuity those game developers will now have with systems that have 2x the power of a PS4 or Xbox One, while also thanking fans for their continued giving of feedback and support.

But before EA would officially end the broadcast for good…there was one more game they’d make sure they’d not forget to leave out…

Return of EA Skate

You read that right! After a hiatus of more than ten long years, Creative Director Cuz Parry and Game Director Daren Chung presumably dropped collective jaws across the world when they announced that an untitled SKATE game was in the works. We didn’t see any gameplay for the game directors, as they said that they are in an early phase of creating the next skateboarding simulation and addition to their already legendary series.

J. Cole Addresses Noname And Snow On Tha Bluff Has Created Some Controversy

J. Cole Addresses Noname And Snow On Tha Bluff Has Created Some Controversy

Celebs

J. Cole’s latest track “Snow on Tha Bluff” addresses his feelings of inadequacy surrounding activism, as protests against racism and police brutality across the world are being held. However, the verse at the beginning of his single seems to address a “young lady” who is using her platform to educate about systemic racism. Based on the description of the woman’s tweets it is speculated that he was referring to rapper and activist Noname.

He confirmed, that Noname was the person in question Wednesday morning on his twitter and stating he stands behind every word of the song that dropped last night. Some people may assume to know who the song is about and that’s fine with him. As it’s not my job to tell anybody what to think or feel about the work. As well as shouting out the artist and encouraging people to follow her.

He finishes by saying he’s not a leader but appreciates Noname for “challenging” his beliefs.

“We may not agree with each other but we gotta be gentle with each other,” said J. Cole

There has been a divide in the reaction to this song as he was praised by some for speaking his mind,  while also receiving backlash from others who deemed his tone as misogynistic and didn’t find it appropriate to criticize and police a Black woman’s tone.

Several artists have disagreed with Cole’s track and its message, Chance the Rapper whose collaborated with both Noname and Cole. Believing Cole took an L for putting out an entire song about she needs to reconsider their tone and attitude to save the world undermines all the work Noname has done.

Earl Sweatshirt was another artist to respond to the situation”Lol before I get grouped into anything let me state that the first truth of many is that the shit was just corny… It would b like on one of the nights following big floyds death if a white rapper (one that ppl like) made a ‘im uneducated on ur plight’ track it just taste bad lol.”

Noname’s fellow Chicagoan Open Mike Eagle named both parties in his remark. “If Cole has a problem with Noname there is no way in the whole wide world that he’s dumb enough to send bars at her,” Mike wrote. “That would be dumb on 5 to 7 different levels.”

Kari Faux and Jean Grae were also weighed in:

Some have noted that Cole had been quick to show support and empathy toward controversial male rappers such as XXXTentacion, Kodak Black, and 6ix9ine in the past, but appears critical of Noname’s outspoken approach to politics. Leave a message in the comment section below do you think of whose side you agree with.

Quaker Oak’s Realizes Aunt Jemima is based on Racist Stereotypes, Set to Rebrand

Quaker Oak’s Realizes Aunt Jemima is based on Racist Stereotypes, Set to Rebrand

Featured

Quaker Oaks has announced they are retiring the Aunt Jemima brand and logo, citing that the brand was based on a racial stereotype.

CNN Business reports the brand was derived from the song “Old Aunt Jemima,” which was based on a minstrel show performer and was sang by slaves.

Nancy Green, the world knew her as “Aunt Jemima,” the famous Aunt Jemima recipe was not her recipe but she became the advertising world’s first living trademark.

The origin story placed on their website states the logo and brand is based on a storyteller, cook, and missionary worker named Nancy Green, but omitted that she was born into slavery.

In an effort to “Set Her Free” a petition has been set on Change.org to as PepsiCo (which Quaker Oak after purchasing the company in 2001) to replace Aunt Jemima with B. Smith. Siting Aunt Jemima’s negative legacy and the proliferation of its painful, stereotypical, racist imagery is the reason It isn’t any social media platforms, except for a frozen products Facebook page by licensee Pinnacle Foods. The liability that advertising the brand has great potential than the hurting PepsiCo and partners.

This petition chose B.Smith because she has been at the forefront of style, entertaining, and health and wellness, leading the way for positive branding. She has an unblemished, strong, profitable legacy joining diversity, a multi-ethnic aesthetic, and authenticity all together under one stylish umbrella.

The petition has yet to reach its goal of 2,500 signatures, PepsiCo knows that in today’s social climate, people won’t stand with a company that blatantly ignored a symbol that is offensive to Black women, no Black Americans.

Aunt Jemima’s image over the years, the current image was part of a brand makeover in 1989.

“As we work to make progress toward racial equality through several initiatives, we also must take a hard look at our portfolio of brands and ensure they reflect our values and meet our consumers’ expectations,” Quaker Oats, which is owned by Pepsi, said in a statement.

So PepsiCo has decided to retire the image and a new logo and brand name for their breakfast items will come in the fall. In addition to the conclusion of the brand, Aunt Jemima will donate $5 million to “create meaningful, ongoing support and engagement in the Black community” in the next five years.

The question I have for this brand is “What took you so long to realize this?”
