The Los Angeles Rams continue to remake their secondary. This time they are sending away a piece rather than bringing one in.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter was the first to report that Aqib Talib and a 2020 NFL Draft fifth-round pick were sent by the team to the Miami Dolphins for a future pick.

Talib was on the IR for the Rams as he recovered from fractured ribs however he is expected to be able to return to the field this year.

In Miami he will be paired with some familiar faces from his brief time with the New England Patriots.

For the Rams, this move saves the team $8 million dollars for next season and opens some salary cap space for the team to execute a contract extension with Jalen Ramsey.

BREAKING NEWS: Cincinnati Bengals Bench Andy Dalton

BREAKING NEWS: Cincinnati Bengals Bench Andy Dalton

The Cincinnati Bengals are in their first year under new head coach Zac Taylor and afternoon an 0-8 start the team has made a change at quarterback. The team is benching Andy Dalton and rookie Ryan Finley will take his place according to NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero:

Even though the nine-year veteran was on pace to set career-highs in completions, pass attempts, and passing yards this season the losing streak has helped lead the franchise to think more about the future than the present.

Finley started his college career at Boise State where he spent two seasons before transferring to North Carolina State. He would go on to become a three-year starter with the program and was selected with the 104th pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.

For the time being, they are in lockstep with the Miami Dolphins in the race for the top pick—and the honor to likely draft Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.

Last night we as NBA fans were spoiled with a multitude of games, with 22 teams competing and 11 who came out on top. We found that the Sixers would hold the top spot in the Eastern Conference with a record of 3-0 after their victory over the Atlanta Hawks. While on the Western Conference, the Spurs and Nuggets join the Minnesota Timberwolves in contention for the top spot in the early stages of the season.

Tonight we’re scheduled for 3 games, a total of 6 teams squaring off.

We kick things off tonight with an Eastern Conference match-up with the Miami Heat and Atlanta Hawks. This is an exciting match-up, to say the least. On one side with Miami, they’ve gotten off to a good start with rookie Tyler Herro being a menace on the offensive end. Even with their successes so far this season, the Heat only get better, with star forward Jimmy Butler entering the line-up for the first time this season. On the other side of the coin, the Atlanta Hawks have been on an upswing so far, with Trae Young and the young team performing well. We can almost assume that the game will being nothing less than an offensive shootout.

Secondly, we have a Western Conference match-up with the Dallas Mavericks and Denver Nuggets. Both teams have started off strong, with two fairly different approaches to their off-season. The Nuggets have mostly maintained their roster, while the Mavericks have shifted focus towards their core of Porzingis and Doncic. Doncic has had incredible stretch of games so far, heavily setting the tone for himself now going into his second year. The Nuggets have generally been a very team-oriented offense, surrounded around Jokic, Harris, and Murray.

And now to round off our list, we have a game that I personally like to call, youth versus experience with another Western Conference battle with the Grizzlies and the Lakers. The Grizzlies just came off a resounding win over the Kyrie Irving and the Brooklyn Nets with rookie point guard Ja Morant leading the charge while the Lakers just came off a strong victory over the Charlotte Hornets as well. As previously stated, this game really is youth versus experience, which will be interesting to see how both teams will stack up against one another.

BREAKING NEWS: Los Angeles Chargers Fire Offensive Coordinator Ken Whisenhunt

BREAKING NEWS: Los Angeles Chargers Fire Offensive Coordinator Ken Whisenhunt

Featured

The Los Angeles Chargers are currently 3-5 and sit in third place in the AFC West. This is not the season that the franchise envisioned after finishing 12-4 a season ago.

In need of a scapegoat to explain the poor display, the team has relieved offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt of his duties on Monday night.

The Chargers offense has been middle of the pack despite having Phillip Rivers, Melvin Gordon, Keenan Allen, and Hunter Henry on their roster. The average offense combined with the poor results meant that changes needed to be made.

Chargers head coach Anthony Lynn said the following in statement released by the team:

“This is not an easy decision and definitely not one that I take lightly. You win as a team, and you lose as a team. It’s never about just one person. At the end of the day, however, I simply felt a change was needed at this time. I want to thank Ken for his years of service to the Chargers organization and wish him nothing but the best moving forward.”

No formal announcement has been made on who will take over play calling responsibilities for the remainder of the season.

NBA fans have finally gotten their first look at the league, with all teams with a handful of games under their belts. As the teams attempt to still find their footing within the early stages of the grueling 82-game season, we take a look into the notable games that’ll be going on throughout the week.

With both teams starting off strong, we take a look at the Eastern Conference match-up between the 76ers and the Hawks. Hawks point guard Trae Young has been an absolute bucket his coming into his second season, help leading his team to wins over the Pistons and the Magic. Young has scored over 35 plus points in his first two games, shooting the ball well from everywhere he wants and also distributing the ball well too. They hope to continue this momentum going into the week, but may find some trouble against one of the bigger names coming out of the East in the Philadelphia 76ers. The Sixers recently came off a win against the Pistons and the Celtics in what were some very good games for all those involved. Joel Embiid sat out their last game against the Pistons, still being able to pull out with the win, and with him back in tonight’s line-up, Embiid, Simmons, and the rest of the Sixers hope to come out with the top spot in the East.

Another game worth looking into is the Thunder’s first meeting against the Houston Rockets. Oklahoma is going into their second game of a back-to-back in an astounding victory over the Golden State Warriors, finishing that game 120-92, and hope to take that momentum into Houston against their once Superstar point guard in Russell Westbrook. There seemed to been a lot of doubt going into the season in regards to the Thunder, and so far they’ve made the statement that they are still a team that will compete with anyone night in and night out. The Thunder received contributions on the offensive end from almost all of their players, adding on to the convincing victory, while the Rockets have so far been playing a strong game of basketball as well, in a game where Westbrook passed Magic Johnson in most Triple-Doubles in league history with 139. Westbrook has officially moved to second, behind the great Oscar Robertson who stands at the top with 181. James Harden has been struggling with his shot to say the least, where these last two games he has averaged 24 points on about 24% shooting. Harden and the Rockets hope to get him back into the swing of things going into tonight’s game.

To top off today’s list of notable games, we look into two playoff caliber teams squaring off early in the season. The Trail Blazers are also coming off a back-to-back, having just played the Dallas Mavericks in a very close game. They were able to come back from being down big at the half. C.J. McCollum and Damian Lillard combined for 63 on the win, with McCollum leading all scorers with 35 points. They’ve looked very strong with their new roster and will try to continue their success against one of the most prolific teams in league history in the San Antonio Spurs. The Spurs are also coming off a win in another close game against the the Washington Wizards, receiving contributions from all of their players on the offensive end, with DeMar DeRozan and LaMarcus Aldridge leading the way. The Spurs are getting a lot of their players back that were away due to injury such as Lonnie Walker and Dejounte Murray. The Spurs would like for them to really come into their own this season to help make a push in a very strong Western Conference.
